The Hobbit

The enchanting prelude to “The Lord of the Rings”

This book might be part of the The Lord of the Rings series.

In this delightful and enthralling tale, J.R.R. Tolkien first created the imperishable world of fantasy called Middle-earth and those charming, lilliputian creatures-the Hobbits-whose adventures are continued in "The Lord of the Rings."

"The Hobbit belongs to a very small class of books which have nothing in common save that each admits us to a world of its own-a world that seems to have been going on before we stumbled into it but which, once found by the right reader, becomes indispensable to him. Its place is with 'Alice in …

Hobitoj, ade hobitos.

This book is so fantastic, and the narrator Andy Serkis knocked it out of the park.

minor spoilers below

I read this for the first time several years ago, it was the start of my love of reading as an adult.

This time around, I listened to the audiobook and it was even better than the ebook I read.

I forgot how many songs there were in the book, but thankfully the narrator did them justice and made them really enjoyable.

My favorite scene is still the …

Fantastic new audiobook edition

It's been a couple of decades since I last read The Hobbit, but the story still holds up. This new audiobook edition is read by Andy Serkis (the actor who voiced and played Gollum, among many others). His voice acting is spectacular and really adds to the book. Highly recommended!
